Calculate your daily calorie needs with BMR

The BMR Calculator will calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate; the number of calories you'd burn if you stayed in bed all day. Each year it becomes harder to eat whatever you want and stay slim, and your BMR decreases as you age. Depriving yourself of food in hopes of losing weight also decreases your BMR. However, a regular routine of cardio exercise can increase your BMR, improving your health when your body's ability to burn calories slows down. Once you know your BMR, you can calculate your daily calorie needs based on your activity level. If you consume fewer calories you will lose weight, and if you consume more you will gain weight.

Calculate your weight category with BMI

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a general measurement of body fat based on height and weight for both men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 years. BMI can be used to indicate if you are overweight, obese, underweight, or normal. The average American is in the overweight category. As a general rule, BMI is a good barometer of health.
